Have a little techie student who is curious about how coding works? Maybe your student loves digital animation and games. This Adventures in Coding class is perfect for students with little or no coding experience. Using block coding, our instructors introduce colorful visual ‘blocks’ of code that allow students to drag and drop pre-programmed coding blocks into their projects. Using the visual coding tools found DroneBlocks, Scratch, and Code.org, students will develop an understanding of how coding works while creating fun games, apps and digital animations. All of the tools used in this class will expose students to the basic math, troubleshooting and computational thinking that’s important for successful coding.
Course Begins – Monday, August 21st
Course Time – 1:30pm – 2:15pm
Course Length – 14 weeks
Instructor – Keicha Barnum “Mrs. B”
I am Keicha Barnum but to my students I am Mrs. B. Ordinarily I would be referred to as the founder of BCR TechED, however, those who know me would probably say that the title of architect would be more fitting. I have used my degree, certifications in technology and design, and experience in both the corporate world and as an entrepreneur to design a more impactful framework for STEAM education that teaches students to learn by “doing”.
